Find Caregiver Resources

A caregiver is anyone who provides support to a family member, friend, or neighbour living with health challenges, aging, disability or changing needs. Caregiving can include helping with daily activities, coordinating appointments, managing medications, offering emotional support, advocating within the health system or simply being present.

Their role is vital to the well-being, safety and continuity of care for the person they support. While caregiving can be meaningful and rewarding, it can also be demanding, isolating, and overwhelming as it is often layered on top of work, family and personal responsibilities.

Recognizing caregivers as essential partners in care helps ensure they feel supported, valued and not alone.

Many specific diseases, disabilities and health conditions also have dedicated organizations or national association websites that offer condition-focused information, education and support. Because there are hundreds of unique conditions, we encourage caregivers to explore resources connected to the specific illness or disability for additional, in-depth support.
